Harry Maguire reveals to Gary Neville why he chose United over City, EURO hopes & more | The Overlap

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of speaking to Manchester United Captain Harry Maguire.

Harry talks about what it was like breaking through at Sheffield United, and which defenders inspired him as a kid.

We reflect on England, talking about the experience of Russia in 2018, and the heart-breaking loss against Croatia. He even reveals why he turned up to the England squad with bin bags!

I find out why Harry chose United over City, and then what it’s been like becoming Captain of Manchester United.

I give him a special handwritten letter from Sir Alex Ferguson, and then we get stuck into a putting challenge!

Let me know in the comments if you enjoyed this episode, and who do you want to see on next?

Brought to you exclusively by Sky Bet.

0:00 - 9:59 The inspiration of Ferdinand & Terry, breaking through at Sheffield United, and the England bin-bags
10:00 - 17:02 Getting called up to England, losing against Croatia and looking ahead to the EUROs
17:02 - 29:21 Choosing Manchester United over Manchester City, the impact of social media and becoming United Captain
29:21 - 42:23 Harry’s lowest point of his career, VAR, a letter from Sir Alex and a putting challenge!

Loovly Lads - I have to say I never really make too much of an effort to put a player down unless they're in great form and getting loads of praise and I think they're over rated - One big thing I regret was giving Vermalen a dirty look at a game from the stands for an arsenal game years ago- nice seats so fairly close - after he screwed up and lost the ball at the corner flag (and I go to very, very few games) - next thing I knew he'd gone to Barca and I rate him to death !! I feel like writing him a letter :)

If you would of signed for Pep at City you'd have about 5 or 6 EPL titles?
