The Model Y is Tesla’s latest vehicle to their all-electric lineup, and many people think it will quickly become the most successful best-selling Tesla ever. After becoming a Tesla owner myself in 2018 I’ve helped thousands of people make the decision of whether to buy a Tesla or not, and in this video I’ll share my full in-depth review of a Tesla Model Y that I rented for a week so you can find out if it actually lives up to the hype. Tesla says the Model Y is a fully electric mid-size sport utility vehicle, but it can also be considered a compact crossover because it’s based on the same platform of Tesla’s cheaper Model 3 sedan and shares about 75% of the same parts, with the biggest differences being Model Y’s bigger cargo space and a powered lift gate hatchback instead of a manual trunk. This particular Model Y is a midnight silver Long Range AWD with 20” Induction wheels, 5-seat black interior and basic Autopilot. The total cost after sales tax was right around $60,000. So as you can see from its price tag, the Model Y is considered a luxury vehicle. But is it worth that much money? Tesla Model Y has an attractive design and provides the best things about the Model 3 with even more space at an elevated view, while being much more affordable than Tesla’s only other SUV - the Model X. The Model Y is pretty much the only option for people who want a fully electric hatchback vehicle with at least 300 miles of range, along with the high level of performance and quickness.

What an excellent video. I am a bit on the fence hear about ordering my model Y. Your informative and extremely well done presentation has really helped. My biggest challenge now is installing a charge. My first attempt was with the electrician say it would cost close to $5000 to expand the electric/breaker and permitting. Since I only have a bout a 20 mile a day commute, I am considering just charging with my regular house current.

fyi for those who have a 3 and wants to upgrade to a y. Tesla low balls you on a trade in price, and I don't resell cars (I've always donated them) Carvana gave me 7k more than Tesla. just takes about a week for them to do their thing (if you're paying off a prior loan like my 2019 model 3) of course it all depends on the year, milage, and condition.

Selling my 3 and getting a new Y (new this year heated steering wheel too). Really like your idea of side view mirror lane change on the screen. Since I don't do social media could you suggest something for me? We all go over the speed limit and I found out we can get an audible notification when we do but it only notifies you once (and we all stay over the speed limit on occasion) so what I'd like to see is that when you go over the speed limit, the mph numbers on the screen turn red and stays red until you go back to the posted speed limit (or lower). You did a great description video by the way thanks. My big gripe is they no longer include the 220v adapter to plug into the nema plug. that's real cheap of them for the price they charge for the car.

I feel cheated not having a cargo cover. Probably not very useful, but I think is a feature that should be added or available. I will get a model 3, but the main reason for getting a Tesla is the infrastructure. There are nicer EVs out there, but the infrastructure for charging is very lacking.

I could only imagine how hard they would be to close without the window vent feature when you open and shut the door and it cracks window for you to lessen cabin pressure. Great vehicle all around and nothing that would prevent me from buying another.

I got mine in December 1st 2021 with the cast rear end fit & finish 99.999% perfect. Blue, 20" wheels had my first nail in the tire yesterday resulting in a slow leak. Took the tire off myself and had a patch repair (don't ever use a plug) First 2 places I took the car wouldn't touch it (batteries underneath) so I just jacked up the car at the locations underneath that can be jacked up & fixed the tire for a fraction of the cost of other alternatives. That includes the dealer. Loving the driving experience, specially in Standard mode.

All I have to say is you better hope in a rain storm mud doesn’t splash and mess up your sensors....you better be ready to take control, though in such a storm most are alert, always a few....I’m really wondering whether lithium or blue gas is the way to go....the Marseilles shelf has availability beat hands down and IT”S by FAR more eco friendly than lithium mines in S; America. I can't stand the Tesla car, not much to look at in the inside - boring with that oversized TV that controls everything - not fun. These cars cost too much money when it is not worth it, and they have a lot of problems being all computerized. The battery is expensive and will have to be changed in about 4 years - thousands of dollars. I see these on the street and they don't get a second look from me because other nice looking cars are better looking and fun to drive. Don't want a Tesla.

I’ve known I’ve wanted my next car to be electric. My brother in LA bought a Model 3 and loves it. My current SUV had an expensive service, likely the first of more to come. Started researching EV’s and quickly realized there is Tesla and there is everyone else. Started extensive research into Model 3 and drove one. A little worried about the low seating height (at my age 😂). Only yesterday decided that Model Y is a better choice for me for not much more money. Started researching Model Y and discovered this video. Fantastic job! I echo others here in lavishing praise for your work. It’s long, and I watched it in shifts. But on other videos I check out after awhile. I watched every second of this one and there is no fluff. You cover everything so well and without the annoying side discussion unrelated to the topic too many amateurs suffer from. I spent a year creating a little technology channel and I applaud your production and delivery of such quality. I watched. I liked. I subscribed. Best wishes!

Proper adjustment of the sideview mirrors will eliminate the blind spots. Here are the directions: For drivers side put the left side of your head to the window, adjust the dirvers side mirror so you can just barely see the left side of the car in the mirror (at just the right most edge of the mirror). For the passenger side, lean over the center console, adjust the passenger side mirror so you can just barely see the right side of the car in the mirror (at just the left most edge of the mirror). As cars are disappearing from the rear view mirror they appear in the side view mirror, as they are disappearing from the side view mirror they will be visible from the window.

Hey man! I'm getting to like evs! Right now I drive a BMW i3s and planning on switching to a Tesla! I live in a small country and most of my driving will be in town, now, I been having troubles deciding between model 3 and Y! Is it worth the extra money going from the 3 to the Y? My pick would be a model 3 long range with 19" wheels or the Y with 20" also long range! Which ones more comfortable to ride and Is the differences in 0-60 a noticeable issue? Would love to hear your comments! Thanks your!
